KMU Training Facility
- Jun 13, 2022
Cities all across Kansas rely on municipal workers with specialized skills to keep their community running. But where do these employees turn for training in the prospective fields–dealing with everything from wastewater to electricity to natural gas?
That’s why the Kansas Municipal Utilities organization decided to build a solution of their own—right here in McPherson.
“We wanted to find a way to fill that (workforce) gap. The training facility provides training for all of the different utility industries that our cities operate–could be a lineman, could be a wastewater worker, or a natural gas worker.”
Avery Osen with Good Day Kansas recently visited with Brad Mears, Kansas Municipalities Executive Director, about why this 35-acre training facility with hands-on training experience chose McPherson to call home.
