Inman
“A Place People Choose To Call Home.”
Location
Located midway between Hutchinson and McPherson, Inman, population 1377, offers a slower-paced life with easy access to larger cities and all the amenities of a thriving town.
Affordable Housing
Several recently developed subdivisions offer new housing at affordable prices. The City also offers a tax rebate program for those purchasing a new home in the city. This rebates 100% of the city’s portion of property taxes for five years.
Appearance and Safety
Visitors often comment on Inman’s clean, well-maintained streets, houses, businesses and updated infrastructure such as a recently built water tower and community building. Community pride drives this progress. Inman’s fully staffed police and volunteer fire department are available to handle fire, rescue, basic life support and other emergency matters.
Belonging
Founded on Christian values, our community flourishes due to the faith and connectedness of its citizens. Numerous churches, organizations and groups provide opportunities for involvement. Pleasant View Home, an eight time winner of the state PEAK award, provides a wonderful home for those in need of skilled nursing care.
Attractions
Our outstanding museum features a life-size village square replica, Rock Island depot and caboose, original telephone office and a transplanted 1875 homestead farm. Two city parks, recreation area and community wellness center and Motocross track offer opportunities for fun and fitness. Shopping, dining, a quaint bed and breakfast and the Kansas Sampler attract many visitors.
Business
Business development and tax incentive opportunities are available.
Schools
Small classes, an excellent staff, cutting-edge technology and opportunities for involvement offer the perfect setting for growth and achievement for pre-kindergarten through high school students. High school students are offered excellent vocational agriculture classes and dual high school and college credits through in-school classes offered by the Hutchinson Community College. 2013 brought the new Early Learning Center at the elementary school and a complete remodel of the high school auditorium.
